March 23th – March 27th

Hello Students!

A huge thank you to all of you that turned in last week’s assignment! If you haven’t turned in your vocab yet, please do so as soon as possible. We hope you are all staying healthy and getting plenty of rest during our time off, but we miss you all and cannot wait for school to open back up! Along with this week’s assignment, make sure you watch CNN10 every morning to make sure you are staying in the loop with national and global news. This week’s assignment is very similar to last week’s, and will consist of reading some of your book and completing an assignment on Google Slides. The assignment will be due on Friday March 27th. If you have any questions, feel free to email Mr. Kurdi or Mr. Trusewicz. Have a great week and go wildcats!

(3/23-3-27): Begin reading Section Two: Rural Decline Causes Urban Migration. Make sure you pay attention to the Geo-terms that are introduced in this section. Discuss this section with your family and friends and make sure you discuss the charts and graphs that are in this section.

Ask yourself- What is this graph showing me? How is this information relevant?

Next, read Section Three: Urbanization Creates New Problems. Once again, look for important vocabulary words in this section and discuss them with your friends and family while looking at the graphs and illustrations. Make sure you look at the image Polluted City Air. What is the city that is in this picture? What are they showing us in this picture? What effects do you think this would have on the environment?

After reading these two sections, you will then create a Storyboard on Google Slides. You will write about three sections in your storyboard- Section One: The Geographic Setting, Section Two: Rural Decline Causes Urban Migration, and Section Three: Urbanization Creates New Problems. Make sure you look for the essential question, create five facts about each section, come up with one question about each section, and add in one picture per section. If you have any questions, please email Mr. T or Mr. Kurdi. Have a great and productive week!
