March 16-20
Hello students!
We hope that you are all safe and sound at this time. Please make sure you are all washing your hands as much as possible and avoid touching your faces! Even though we will not be meeting for the next few weeks, we want to make sure that we provide you work to do for the class so we do not fall behind when we get back. Below is what we expect you all to do by Friday, March 20th. Keep checking the Iblog to make sure you’re keeping up to date with the class! If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please email Mr. Kurdi or Mr. Trusewicz, we will try to answer as soon as possible!
(3/16-3-20): Begin reading Chapter 9, Spatial Inequality in Mexico City: From Shacks to Skyscrapers. Read the introduction by yourself and discuss the reading with your friends or family. Discuss what you have learned and begin making connections to previous chapters that we have read. Next, read section one, The Geographic Setting. After reading, discuss with your friends or family once again and make sure you are studying the vocabulary words along the way. After you finish reading these sections, you will create a slideshow on Google Slides and instead of doing the vocab squares that we usually do, you will create them in a slideshow instead. You can design the slides however you want as long as each Geoterm is listed and has each of the following:
- The book’s definition
- Your own definition
- The vocabulary word in a sentence
- A picture explaining the vocabulary word
You can put all of the information on one slide for each vocab word, you can do four slides for each vocab word, or any other way you can think of. Once again, if you have any questions, please send us an email and we will get back to you as soon as we can!
