The bus drivers have completed their annual bidding and their new routes start tomorrow. I just wanted to give you a heads up that your child may have a new driver in the morning. Some drivers kept their same route so you may see the same familiar face. 🙂
Half Day Reminder
We have a half day this Friday, November 3.
Dismissal is at 11:45. We are already through with one quarter of our school year as Friday marks the end of the first marking period!
Field Trip Reminder
Don’t forget we are going Trick-or-Treating at ASC tomorrow!
Please pack your child’s costume in their backpack. We will change into our costumes after gym right before we leave.

PEEK AT THE WEEK
- This week we worked on practicing the core vocab word “I”
- Mohamed had a birthday over the weekend so we celebrate by singing to him all day long! Happy Birthday Mohamed!!!
- We continued letter of the week by listening to letter “D” songs, reading books about things that start with the letter “D”, using bingo markers to outline the letter, and continuing our letter book by painting yellow ducks
- The children sang along with the story “Go Away Big Green Monster” on the iPad
- We had a therapy group with Mrs. Gallery and Ms. Staci during which we followed a recipe to make pumpkin dip. We ate the dip with graham crackers, pretzels, and apples
- We continued singing Halloween songs and reading Halloween stories including “Five Little Monkeys Trick or Treat”
- The children made a jack-o-lantern craft
- We read a book all about pumpkins and how they grow
- The children drew in their journals
- We explored our Halloween themed sensory bin that is filled with dry beans, pumpkin shaped ice cube trays, pretend snakes, rats, and eyeballs
- We worked on building stamina during daily 5
- The students are working HARD to independently feed themselves as much as possible during lunch and snack time. Please make sure you are giving your child the opportunity to work on these skills at home. I know it can be messy and takes longer but it is very important they learn to feed themselves 🙂

- If you have not yet returned your child’s emergency card please do so ASAP. It is very important we have the most updated information on file
- Return your parent/teacher conference sign-up sheet ASAP to get your preferred time slot

PTA Halloween Party Tonight!

Halloween celebration tonight!
Thursday, Oct. 26 from 6 to 7:30pm, Snow School PTA is having a Halloween party! There will be a bake sale in the cafeteria with pizza and baked goods (please leave any donations on the cart outside the office during the day Thursday). There will be music, games, prizes and a costume contest in the gym. The costume contest is $1 to enter and children will receive a wristband to participate. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Come out for an evening of Halloween fun! And don’t forget the Book Fair will be open during the party for anyone who would like to purchase books.

PEEK AT THE WEEK
- This week we worked on practicing core vocab words we have already gone over such as “go,” “want,” don’t,” “stop,” and “more”
- The school had a practice fire drill on Monday
- We had picture day on Tuesday. Everyone smiled nicely for the camera!
- We continued our pet theme this week by reading a book about cats. We made a chart about what they can do, what they have, and what they are
- We continued letter of the week by listening to letter “C” songs, reading books about things that start with the letter “C”, using bingo markers to outline the letter, and continuing our letter book by sponge painting cars
- The children practiced fine motor skills with puzzles, fine motor jars, and various art projects
- The children enjoyed the beautiful weather by playing outside on the playground in the afternoons after our rest time
- We continued singing Halloween songs and reading Halloween stories including “Go Away, Big Green Monster!”
- We also read the poem Five Little Pumpkins using a cookie sheet prop to follow along. The children also mixed yellow and red to make orange pumpkins

- We worked on building stamina during daily 5

PEEK AT THE WEEK
- This week we worked on the core vocab word “not.” We practiced using the word “not” by sorting animals that would and would not make good pets and by talking about foods we like and do not like
- We continued our pet theme this week by talking about hard and soft animals (ex: turtles have hard shells, dogs have soft fur), we read a book about dogs and made a chart about what they can do, what they have, and what they are, we also did an art project where we made a cat out of rectangles, and we read a story about pet day at school and talked about the different characteristics of animals
- We continued letter of the week by listening to letter “B” songs, reading books about things that start with the letter “B”, using bingo markers to outline the letter, and continuing our letter book by painting butterflies
- The children practiced recognizing the first letters in their name with our interactive class book and by decorating the first letter of the names with Halloween stickers
- We have been learning about the color blue the last two weeks so we finger painted with blue paint, read an interactive color blue story, listened to songs about the color blue, and talked about things that are blue in the classroom
- We started singing Halloween songs and reading Halloween stories including Five Monkeys Go Trick or Treating
