PEEK AT THE WEEK
- This week we worked with the letter B. The children put band aides all over their “b” page for their alphabet book. We used our fine motor skills to peel the paper off the backs of the band aides and to open the packages.
- We attempted to make applesauce, however we had an issue with the crock-pot so instead we peeled and cored the apples then tasted them as is. Some of us liked the apples better when they were cut into spirals rather than slices. 🙂
- The students completed a journal page.
- We read the book, “Mouse’s First Fall” to celebrate the first day of the new season.
- The children made leaf prints by painting over leaves with fall colors.
- At story time, we read “Ten Apples Up On Top!” and practiced counting to ten. We also used Legos as our “apples” and stacked them 10 blocks high just like in the story. We worked on patterned during this time as well as we used red and green Legos to make our apple tower.
- We had our first tornado drill of the year. All of the students did a great job being quiet in the hall as we waited for the drill to be over.
- The students practiced their fine motor skills with peg and button jars, puzzles, and bingo markers.
