PEEK AT THE WEEK
- On Monday we had group with Mr. Joe and Mrs. Gallery. Joe brought in gingerbread scented playdough and Mrs. Gallery brought an interactive gingerbread story.
- The children looked through catalogs and each picked out a toy they would like to have as a gift this holiday season.
- We completed our letter “l” page with leaf rubbings.
- The children practiced counting with the poem “5 Little Gingerbread.”
- We learned about the color green.
- We worked on our holiday shape book. This week we focused on stars.
- The students drew in their journals.
- The children practiced prepositions with a gingerbread interactive story. The children had to place the gingerbread on the correct place on the page to match the words.
- We made gingerbread cookies.
- We found out how many gingerbread cookies tall everyone is by standing next to gingerbread cut outs.
- The students each took a bite of their gingerbread men cookie and we graphed which part of the body they bit first (leg, arm, head).
- The children practiced more counting and their fine motor skills with a gingerbread cookie math game. We rolled the dice, counted the dots, and then the children used a spatula to move pretend cookies from the cookie sheet to a plate.
