PEEK AT THE WEEK
- This month we are learning all about weather and the four seasons. This week we focused on fall.
- We read interactive books about what people wear, do, and see during the fall months.
- Joe and Mrs. Gallery set up an obstacle course in the hallway for us on Monday morning. We had to walk on a balance beam, walk up a ramp and jump off, roll across a mat, spin on a sit n’ spin, roll a large ball in a square, walk a line and put rings on a post, ride scooters on our bellies and ended by crawling through a tunnel!
- We practiced our core vocabulary by talking about the words “like” and “don’t”. We listened to a silly song about liking and not liking foods and then told the class if we like or don’t like certain foods.
- The children practiced their counting and number recognition skills with touch math and the book “Five Little Monkeys.”
- We read “There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Frog” and made frogs out of paper plate.
- We painted at the easel with green paint to make shamrock decorations for our classroom bulletin board.
- The children practiced their fine motor skills with pegs, button jars, puzzles, lacing beads, and lock and keys.

PEEK AT THE WEEK
- This month we are learning all about weather and the four seasons. This week we focused on winter.
- We read interactive books about what people wear, do, and see during the winter months.
- The children drew in their journals and practiced their handwriting skills by tracing lines and the letter of the week – “T.”
- We were able to have outdoor recess and enjoy the beautiful weather on Monday! It was so fun to be able to go on the swings and slides. The playground has been very muddy the past few weeks so we have been stuck inside.
- We practiced our core vocabulary by talking about what the word “same” means. We read a book about things that are the same and talked about how things that are the same look alike or match. Then we found objects around the room that are the same.
- The children and Ms. Kim practiced their counting and number recognition skills with touch math and the book “Eight Silly Monkeys.”
- We celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday by reading several of his books. After reading, we worked on our fine motor skills by tearing up red and white paper to make Cat in the Hat hats.
- The children continued working on their alphabet books by gluing triangles all over their “T” page.
- We practiced fine motor skills and one to one correspondence by placing pom poms in muffin tins and butterfly shaped erasers in ice cube trays. The students are practicing putting one object into each of the sections in the divided containers. Some children worked on their pincer grasp while others used tongs and tweezers to pick up the objects.
- The children started their four seasons tree collages by painting snow all over their winter tree with a q-tip.
DONATIONS NEEDED
We are in need of Kleenex for the classroom.
If you could make a donation it would be greatly appreciated.

Upcoming Events
No school Monday, February 20th – Friday, February 24th – mid-winter break.
I hope you enjoy your break!
See you Monday, February 27th.
Note From Mrs. Bush:
During Winter Break we are asking families to participate in a Habit 4 Win/Win activity. Please sort through your books at home. IF there are any you no longer want please bring them to Snow School and put them in the bin by Mrs. Bush’s room.
These books will then be reused in our Thursday (3/16 and 3/23) Book Share table. Each book will cost $.50. This is a win/win because you are reorganizing your books (discovering some you may have forgotten) AND you are helping a friend to buy a new book at a low cost. The money will be used by the Leader in Me Team to complete the main hallway decorating.
If you have any question please see Mrs. Bush
