Newsletter for the Week of November 15th

PEEK AT THE WEEK

  • Our core vocab word of the week was “in”
  • We practiced using the word “in” in many ways. The children put all sorts of things “in” this week including, buttons, pegs, 3D shapes, and bean bags after they put something in a jar or basket we practiced saying “It is in!”
  • Our letter of the week was “I”
  • We practiced the letter “I” by reading an interactive book and searching through our bean bin for objects that start with the letter “I,” we did an igloo bingo sheet, and sang letter “I” song
  • We sang and put together Mat Man with Ms. Staci. Mat Man helps us learn our body parts
  • We read many Thanksgiving books including “Bear Says Thanks” and “Turkey Trouble”
  • The class made a graph of Thanksgiving foods they’d like to try
  • The students learned all about different vehicles and ways to move! We read a book and practiced making vehicle noises (vroom, beep-beep, toot-toot), sorted vehicles by where they move (water, land, air) and finished sentences about where we would like to go
  • We made a turkey craft and practiced our gluing skills as well as fall color recognition
