Newsletter for the Week of March 19th

PEEK AT THE WEEK

  • We continued letter of the week by listening to letter “Q” songs and reading books about things that start with the letter “Q.” The students completed their letter “Q” book page by adding question marks
  • Our core vocab word of the week was “go.” We read stories with the word and completed activities such as going through a tunnel while cheering on our friends (“Go! Go! Go!”), playing peek-a-boo and asking “Where did _____ go?” and by reading a story about a bunny on the go and making the bunny go through the scenes on the page
  • Tuesday was the first day of spring so we read a book about things we can see in the spring and charted the first signs of spring
  • The students made rainbows out of colored pasta with Ms. Staci, Mr. Aaron, Mrs. Gallery, and Ms. Melanie
  • The kindergarteners went on a letter hunt. They searched through the grass in our sensory bin for letters, matched them with the letter on a worksheet and then practiced tracing the letter
  • We practiced counting and number recognition with an interactive Easter Counting book
  • The children had indoor recess with our slide, trampoline, sit n spin, and medicine ball
  • The students made thunderstorm paintings at the easel as we are learning about rain this month
  • We read a story called “Going on an Egg Hunt” and practiced color recognition
