Newsletter for the week of March 12th

PEEK AT THE WEEK

  • We continued letter of the week by listening to letter “P” songs and reading books about things that start with the letter “P.” The students completed their letter “P” book page by adding a peacock
  • Our core vocab word of the week was “put.” We read stories with the word and completed activities such as put in and put on. The students put pegs in a jar, put cookies in our counting cookie jar, and put on different hats
  • The students made rainbows with bingo markers. We worked on color recognition during this craft
  • We made get well cards for a student in another class who will be in the hospital for a period of time
  • The children went on a St. Patrick’s Day number hunt. The searched through the bean bin for numbers then matched them to the numbers on our pot of gold
  • We talked about different types of weather and then graphed everyone’s favorite type
  • The children wrote about what they would do if they found a pot of gold. We added our pot of gold writing to our rainbows from earlier in the week and hung them in the hall for everyone to read
  • The students drew in their journals. Some of us practiced tracing shapes and lines
