Newsletter for the Week of October 23rd

PEEK AT THE WEEK

  • This week we worked on practicing the core vocab word “I”
  • Mohamed had a birthday over the weekend so we celebrate by singing to him all day long! Happy Birthday Mohamed!!!
  • We continued letter of the week by listening to letter “D” songs, reading books about things that start with the letter “D”, using bingo markers to outline the letter, and continuing our letter book by painting yellow ducks
  • The children sang along with the story “Go Away Big Green Monster” on the iPad
  • We had a therapy group with Mrs. Gallery and Ms. Staci during which we followed a recipe to make pumpkin dip. We ate the dip with graham crackers, pretzels, and apples
  • We continued singing Halloween songs and reading Halloween stories including “Five Little Monkeys Trick or Treat”
  • The children made a jack-o-lantern craft
  • We read a book all about pumpkins and how they grow
  • The children drew in their journals
  • We explored our Halloween themed sensory bin that is filled with dry beans, pumpkin shaped ice cube trays, pretend snakes, rats, and eyeballs
  • We worked on building stamina during daily 5
  • The students are working HARD to independently feed themselves as much as possible during lunch and snack time. Please make sure you are giving your child the opportunity to work on these skills at home.  I know it can be messy and takes longer but it is very important they learn to feed themselves 🙂
