PEEK AT THE WEEK
- This week we worked on the core vocab word “stop.” We practiced using the word “stop” by dancing until Miss Ashley says “stop”, driving a toy car until we reached a stop sign, shaking bells until Miss Ashley says “stop” and playing stop/go (red light/green light)
- We started our new monthly theme which is pets. We will learn which animals make good pets and how people take care of their pets.
- We started letter of the week by listening to letter “A” songs, reading books about things that start with the letter “A”, using bingo markers to outline the letter, and starting our letter book by marble painting an acorn, but instead of using marbles we used acorns we found on the playground
- The children practiced shape recognition by making a shape puppy
- We made a graph of pets we wished we had at home
- The students practiced counting and number recognition with an interactive counting book filled with pets and by rolling a die to see how many spots to draw on a dog
- We read a story about taking care of pets and listed all of the different chores related to having different animals as pets
- The children drew in their journals
