Newsletter for the Week of March 6th

PEEK AT THE WEEK

  • This month we are learning all about weather and the four seasons. This week we focused on fall.
  • We read interactive books about what people wear, do, and see during the fall months.
  • Joe and Mrs. Gallery set up an obstacle course in the hallway for us on Monday morning. We had to walk on a balance beam, walk up a ramp and jump off, roll across a mat, spin on a sit n’ spin, roll a large ball in a square, walk a line and put rings on a post, ride scooters on our bellies and ended by crawling through a tunnel!
  • We practiced our core vocabulary by talking about the words “like” and “don’t”. We listened to a silly song about liking and not liking foods and then told the class if we like or don’t like certain foods.
  • The children practiced their counting and number recognition skills with touch math and the book “Five Little Monkeys.”
  • We read “There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Frog” and made frogs out of paper plate.
  • We painted at the easel with green paint to make shamrock decorations for our classroom bulletin board.
  • The children practiced their fine motor skills with pegs, button jars, puzzles, lacing beads, and lock and keys.
