Welcome!

The first week of school is off to a great start!

We started the week by getting to know our classmates, exploring the play area, singing songs, reading books, and leaving the classroom for gym with Mr. Moyer.  We also had music and art in our classroom with two different subs Mrs. G and Mr. G.

PEEK AT THE WEEK

• We read the story “Pete the Cat Rocking in My School Shoes” and used bingo markers to decorate a first day of school hat
• The students created learning plans for the year by choosing what they would like to focus on in reading and math 🙂  This is a school wide assignment
• We worked with the first letter of our names and used stickers to decorate our letters. They are hanging on a bulletin board in the classroom
• During Daily 5 we practiced reading to ourselves and handling books the correct way (right side up and turning pages one at a time)
• We read a book about caring for others and reviewed the district’s Upstander Pledge for the Stop Bulling campaign and signed the pledge with our thumbprints

Monday: Music 12:50 – 1:35

Tuesday: PE – 12:00 – 12:45

Wednesday: PE – 12:00 – 12:45, Music – 1:40 – 2:25

Thursday: PE – 12:00 – 12:45

Friday: Art – 12:00 – 12:45

Music- Mrs. G (long term sub for Mr. Stinson)

PE- Mr. Moyer

Art- Ms. Zechar

*Please make sure your child is wearing tennis shoes on PE day*

REMINDERS

NO SCHOOL – MONDAY SEPTEMBER 12TH

• Please return your free/reduced lunch forms as soon as possible.
• After reviewing your child’s emergency cards and making any necessary changes send it back to school.
• If you are ordering a school spirit shirt you have until Friday, September 23^rd to return your order form.
