Newsletter for the week of October 15th

PEEK AT THE WEEK

  • Our core vocab word of the week was “eat”
  • We practiced using the word “eat” in many ways. The children requested to eat lunch and snack and we practiced using the word eat while combining it with certain foods such as cracker and banana
  • Our letter of the week was “E”
  • We practiced the letter “E” by reading an interactive book and searching through our bean bin for objects that start with the letter “E,” we did an elephant bingo sheet and sang letter “E” songs
  • The children worked on identifying the first letter of their name during morning attendance and while we read our name book during story time
  • We read “Go Away Big Green Monster” and sang along with the song on the iPad
  • The students practiced counting, number recognition, and 1:1 correspondence with the story “5 Hungry Ghost”
  • We had picture day and the students all tried their best to smile for their picture 😉
  • The children made shape jack-o-lanterns and got to choose which shapes to use for their eyes, nose, and mouth
  • We practiced 1:1 correspondence with different size and shaped ice cube trays and different objects to place in the divided sections, such as pumpkin erasers, spider rings, and blocks
