Newsletter for the week of October 1st

 PEEK AT THE WEEK

  • Our core vocab word of the week was “can”
  • We practiced using the word “can” in many ways. The children completed different tasks such as completing puzzles, putting buttons through a slot, and playing different instruments all while saying “I can!” afterwards using core vocab boards, vocalizations or our voice output device
  • Our letter of the week was “c”
  • We practiced the letter “c” by reading an interactive book and searching through our bean bin for objects that start with the letter “c,” we did a crab bingo sheet, traced circles, and sang letter “c” songs
  • The children worked on identifying the first letter of their name with our class book and then decorated the letter of the name with Halloween stickers
  • We read “We’re Going on a Leaf Hunt.” This is our free scholastic book of the month so watch for it in your child’s bag next week!
  • The students practiced counting, number recognition, and 1:1 correspondence with the story “Five Hungry Ghost”
  • We practiced our fine motor skills with puzzles this week!
  • The children helped read an interactive book about things we see in the fall and then we did leaf rubbings
  • We also played on the playground almost every day! We want to get in as much playground time as we can while the weather is still nice
