PEEK AT THE WEEK
- We continued letter of the week by listening to letter “V” songs and reading books about things that start with the letter “V.” The students completed their letter “V” book page by adding an volcano
- We played outside on the playground several times this week! The students enjoyed playing on the swings, slides, and climbers
- The children made a special Mother’s day gift. Check their folders for your surprise!
- We read a story about things that can grow in a garden and then sorted items into categories: grows in a garden/does not grow in a garden
- The students practiced counting and number recognition with a garden counting book
- We practiced sorting bears by color
- The students drew in their journals
- We worked on building stamina during read to self time
- The students practiced their fine motor skills with all different tray activities
- The children practiced making a request using the sentence starter “I want…” then choosing a song they’d like to listen to
- We went for a nature walk during which we looked for birds, squirrels, and worms. While we were walking we also practiced walking in a line using our rope
- While we always work on building independence we have been working extremely hard this week to do things for ourselves, such as throw away our own trash after meals, wash our hands at the sink, hanging up our own lunch shirts, and putting away our toys

- May 25th and 28th – NO SCHOOL
- June 5th – Special Ed Field day @ Edsel Ford – permission slips will be sent home at the end of May
- June 6th – Field day @ Snow
- June 11th – Zoo field trip with the honors students from Annapolis High School – permission slips will be sent home at the beginning of June
- June 14th – Last day of school – ½ day dismissal at 11:45
