PEEK AT THE WEEK
- We continued letter of the week by listening to letter “U” songs and reading books about things that start with the letter “U.” The students completed their letter “U” book page by adding an umbrella
- We played outside on the playground several times this week! The students enjoyed playing on the swings, slides, and climbers
- The children practiced their scissor skills while cutting petals onto the flowers they painted last week for our hallway display
- We read “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” during which we practiced signing “more,” worked on our fine motor skills by “feeding” our caterpillar prop, and practiced identifying colors and worked on counting
- On Wednesday the school had its annual Leadership day. Wiam and Noor had the chance to be greeters. They stood in the lobby and welcomed guests to our building
- The students drew in their journals
- We practiced fine motor skills with lacing, puzzles, pegs and a button jar
- The students practiced counting, number recognition, and subtraction with the song “Five Green and Speckled Frogs”
- We read “There was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Frog” and fed our old lady prop
- The children completed an obstacle course with our slide, trampoline, and tunnel. When they got to the end they had to identify the color and/or letter on a bean bag then toss it into a basket
