PEEK AT THE WEEK
- We continued letter of the week by listening to letter “R” songs and reading books about things that start with the letter “R.” The students completed their letter “R” book page by adding rain drops
- Our core vocab word of the week was “like.” We read stories with the word and completed activities such as making sounds like animals and choosing foods we like to eat
- The students used their fine motor skills to cut or tear brown paper to make a paper plate bear craft that is on display in the classroom
- We read “Going on a Bear Hunt” with props and then sang the song and went through the movements
- The children practiced counting and number recognition with an interactive spring counting book
- The students wrote in their journals
- We worked on building stamina during read-to-self time
- We finally got to go outside to the playground!
- The students are learning about land and water this month. We read a book called “Eddie the Eagle” and then they sorted animals by where they live, either in the water or on the land
- The children practiced their fine motor skills with all sorts of different tasks including puzzles, pegs, and fine motor jars
