Newsletter for the Week of January 22nd

PEEK AT THE WEEK

  • We continued letter of the week by listening to letter “K” songs, reading books about things that start with the letter “K” and completing our letter K book page by adding a kite
  • We worked on building stamina during read to self time
  • We practiced number recognition and counting with an interactive book about things in winter
  • The children practiced their fine motor skills with a variety of fine motor tasks including peg and button jars, puzzles, and peg boards
  • We read a book about winter weather and answered the question, “Do you like winter?” The students graphed their responses and we talked about more and less

  • We read a book that has interactive sounds and we matched the picture on the page to the sound button
  • We read “There was a Cold Lady who Swallowed some Snow” and used props to feed our old lady
  • The students played in our sensory bin that now has a Valentine’s Day theme. The used shovels to scoop the beans and fill heart shaped containers

 

We welcomed a new preschool student to our class.
