PEEK AT THE WEEK

  • On Monday we celebrated Wiam’s birthday! Happy Birthday Wiam!!
  • We continued letter of the week by listening to letter “J” songs, reading books about things that start with the letter “J” and using bingo markers to outline the letter
  • The children drew in their journals
  • We worked on building stamina during read to self time
  • The children painted at the easel to make a winter mitten and hat craft that will hang in the hallway along with our writings about what we like to do during the winter
  • We practiced color recognition with an interactive book about colored snowflakes and then the students colored their own snowflake
  • Kim read us the story “Winter is for Snow”
  • We read a book about people in winter and then graphed if we prefer to wear mittens or gloves. The children tried each on before deciding
  • The children practiced the core vocab word “stop” by reading books that included the word on each page, then we drove a car up to a stop sign and we danced to a song while saying “don’t stop”
  • We worked on fine motor skills by working on puzzles, cause and effect shape sorters, and coloring with crayons
  • The children are working very hard on independently feeding themselves. PLEASE practice this at home.  The more practice the better!
