PEEK AT THE WEEK
- This week we worked on the core vocab word “not.” We practiced using the word “not” by sorting animals that would and would not make good pets and by talking about foods we like and do not like
- We continued our pet theme this week by talking about hard and soft animals (ex: turtles have hard shells, dogs have soft fur), we read a book about dogs and made a chart about what they can do, what they have, and what they are, we also did an art project where we made a cat out of rectangles, and we read a story about pet day at school and talked about the different characteristics of animals
- We continued letter of the week by listening to letter “B” songs, reading books about things that start with the letter “B”, using bingo markers to outline the letter, and continuing our letter book by painting butterflies
- The children practiced recognizing the first letters in their name with our interactive class book and by decorating the first letter of the names with Halloween stickers
- We have been learning about the color blue the last two weeks so we finger painted with blue paint, read an interactive color blue story, listened to songs about the color blue, and talked about things that are blue in the classroom
- We started singing Halloween songs and reading Halloween stories including Five Monkeys Go Trick or Treating
