PEEK AT THE WEEK
- We read a new story this week called “Present under the Tree.” This story helps us practice number recognition, counting to five, and color recognition. We read the story several times this week with and without props. Our props are colored boxes to match the presents in the story. Inside each present is a gift that matches the gift in the book. The kids had a lot of fun opening the presents to see what’s inside!
- The children worked with the letter ‘M’ completing a handwriting page and their letter page to add to their alphabet book we having been working on since the second week of school.
- We worked on our fine motor skills with puzzles and fine motor jars.
- The children continued to work on their holiday shape books.
- We decorated a felt tree.
- The students drew in their journals.
- We read an interactive book about clothes we wear in the winter.
- Some students went shopping in the holiday gift shop and wrapped the presents they bought for their family members.
- We practiced counting with a gingerbread poem and a counting reindeer song.
