PEEK AT THE WEEK
- On Monday we had our first group therapy session with Mr. Joe and Mrs. Gallery. The students made apple prints with Mr. Joe and read a story about farm animals with Mrs. Gallery.
- Later in the week we used the apple prints we made with Mr. Joe for math. We all took turns rolling a large die, then we counted how many dots it landed on and put that number of seeds on our apple prints.
- We conducted a fun apple bubble science experiment. We cored apples, filled them with orange juice, and then blew bubbles into the juice with a straw. Next, we added milk to the orange juice and blew more bubble. We found out that the bubbles lasted longer when the milk was added. We all tried to blow bubbles, but it was tricky so I blew bubbles for the kids and let them pop them with their fingers or straws. They loved popping all the bubbles!
- During story time we read, “There was an Old Lady Who Swallowed some Leaves!” The children were able to help tell the story with props. Each child had a chance to “feed” the old lady something from the book.
- We painted cinnamon scented apples by adding a sprinkle of cinnamon to our paint and we used our handprints for the apple leaves.
- The children explored the sensory table for the first time! It is currently filled with oats. We used spoons, cups, and bowls to fill, dump, and scoop the oats.
