Phew! I have been at school for the last 2 days cleaning out desks and lockers. “Yikes” is all I have to say! Currently, everything is in the lockers in bags. When Ms. Tiba gets the green light, she will let us know when you will be able to retrieve your child’s things.

View this week’s mini-lesson LIVE on Thursday!

In case you missed it, Mystery Doug invites you to another
LIVE SCIENCE SHOW. Doug is excited to answer kids’ questions with the help of astronaut Jessica Meir, who filmed videos for us while she was in space! (Seriously!)

Mrs. Juntunen added a video in our WRITING BOTH GRADES assignment in Google Classroom. It will show you how to add pictures to your digital Memory Book if you want! Click on the assignment from yesterday – dated May 19.

Hooray! We have no school Friday or Monday!

Today you will have some new assignments, but I will NOT be giving you any assignments tomorrow! So use today and tomorrow to finish up this weeks’ work. It is going to be a nice weekend, and you won’t want to be inside doing schoolwork! (neither do your parents!)

New today: Math, Social Studies Part 2, PE, Art, Music, and Science Enrichment.

Math 3rd grade – Lesson 17. Please go to Google Classroom and read the directions that are with this assignment. It is due tomorrow.

Math 4th grade – Lesson 20. Please go to Google Classroom and read the directions that are with this assignment. It is due tomorrow.

Also this week: Reading – www.kidsa-z.com. Find your book. Read it and take the quiz.

Readworks.org – Spring Into Poetry!

Writing – Digital Memory Book

New Assignments today: Writing both grades – Digital Memory Book and Reading Everyone – A new book has been assigned to you in Raz Kids.

Writing – Personal Narrative – Please go to Google Classroom and look under WRITING BOTH GRADES. Find May 19 Writing Project – Memory Book. Please read the directions carefully!! Mrs. Juntunen put this awesome project in for us, but you must read the directions. You have until Thursday to fill in the Power point. Next week, we write!

Reading Everyone! Go to the site Raz Kids: www.kidsa-z.com and find a new assignment in your Student Portal. This week is a non-fiction, or informational book. They are all great books that I have chosen. Read 2 or 3 chapters each day. When you have finished, please take the quiz. 8/10 is passing. Due Thursday, May 21.

**I will put directions for reading on Google Classroom, however there is no need to turn in anything under Reading Everyone. I will get your scores and the minutes you read in the Raz Kids site.

I will not be available for questions or emails on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. I will be on line in the a.m. and from 3 – 3:30. Thank you.

Dear Parents – I feel there is some confusion with the Reading assignments. Two of the reading sites that we use in many grades at Lindbergh are separate sites from Google Classroom. They are:

Readworks.org and Raz Kids (www.kidsa-z.com)

They ARE NOT connected to Google Classroom. The students submit their work right on those websites. We had been using Readworks all year in class. There is no need to press TURN IN on Google Classroom for those 2 sites. I put directions on Google Classroom, but for those 2 sites, I direct you to go to those websites.

As I put on the Progress Reports, please read this blog first, THEN go to Google Classroom and read the directions carefully with each assignment.

This week is a short week! No school on Friday, May 22 or Monday, May 25. We will have 2 Math assignments this week that will be due by Thursday, May 21.

New Today: Math – both grades, Social Studies both grades, Reading – everyone.

Math 3rd Grade – Lesson 16 – Due Wed.

Math 4th Grade – Lesson 19 – Due Wed.

Social Studies – Go to Google Classroom Social Studies both Grades. Find May 18 – Price and Competition. This week, Mrs. Hull put in our lesson. It includes a video to watch and some reading from the 4th grade On Line Social Studies Book. She included a link to the book, but 3rd graders also have this book on Google Classroom – it is called “Social Studies Book.” (NOT the Michigan studies book.) Please read the directions carefully for this assignment. Due Thursday, May 21.

Reading: On the site Readworks.org, there is an article called Spring Into Poetry. I extended the due date to Thursday. Please read and answer the questions on that site, then students press submit. There is NO NEED to press Turn In on Google Classroom for this story.

Tomorrow (Friday) we have a story on Readworks that is due. The article is Device May Help Blind People See. Several of you have submitted it, but only 2 people have passed – Sophia and James. (as of Thursday 4:25 p.m.) These are not such hard questions. The answers come directly from the story. You must get an 80% to complete this assignment. Please read carefully. Use a split screen, or go back to the story for the answers.
