ELA and Reading

www.razkids.com Website for students of all reading levels to access text at their level. Includes numerous text, comprehension quizzes and stories read out loud.*Consult your child’s classroom teacher’s blog for class login and password or email them directly 
www.readworks.org Website for students of all reading levels with a variety of text types. Includes a variety of fiction and nonfiction and can be broken down by grade level or topic. Includes vocabulary lessons, comprehension quizzes and more. *Parents will need to sign up for a free subscription if your child’s teacher does not use this resource. 
www.storylineonline.org Free website with tons of videos of celebrities reading aloud a variety of text. This is an excellent resource for comprehension! Have your child retell the story, discuss the author’s purpose or design a different ending. Click this link for activities: comprehension questions and activities 
www.abcmouse.com *Lower Elementary resource: this is a website for students ages 2-8. This website is a ton of fun for students to build phonics skills, grammar, and multiple books online. -also a great math resourceYou can sign up for a 30 day free trial and after that it is a $10/month subscription fee 
www.getepic.com Website with hundreds of different books and animated stories for students to watch and read. Free during the COVID-19 pandemic *Contact your child’s classroom teacher or myself for a login 
Teaching Remotely for Grades K – 12 | Free Resources and StrategiesScholastic is offering 20 days of free lessons broken down by grade level bands. These lessons include books, videos and activities designed to be done at home. These lessons include science and social studies content as well. 
Khan Academy This website includes lessons in all subjects for grades K-12. *Your child should have access to khan academy through their classroom teacher’s blog or clever. This link is specifically for parents during COVID-19 and includes at home lessons and a daily schedule!

Take your child on a virtual field trip! I am working on an activity guide and will link when complete to go with virtual field trip visits. 
MI Open Book This free website includes Michigan social studies textbooks and activities. Click on “The Books” link in the toolbar at the top and select your child’s grade level. 
Mystery Science This science website has videos and activities for students to do at home!*Your child’s classroom teacher may also post separate lessons to their blog, google classroom, or ilearn site. This link is specifically for parents.

www.pbskids.org Free website full of games and PBS shows that can be accessed on any device. Download the free app for faster speed. 
Netflix For families with a Netflix account. If you login to the Kids profile and search the categories there is one titled “STEAM; science, technology, engineering, art and math.” This category is full of educational shows and movies that are great for kids.

Please note that this section is completely optional and the above resources in addition to the lessons provided by your child’s classroom and special area teachers are more than enough for your child to continue in their learning.
