Assignment for May 4-8 Celebrating May

It’s May! My favorite month! Mostly because it is my birthday(May 5th ;-)) but also because Spring is so beautiful with all things blooming and growing outside, as well as the weather getting warmer. May is also awesome because we celebrate Mother’s Day, Cinco de Mayo (a fun Mexican holiday) and Teacher Appreciation.

*Choose one of the activities below, follow the directions, and email it to me. I can not wait to hear from you and see which activity you pick. I promise to write back and grade you. Have Fun!

*Blow a Balloon for my birthday: Try this experiment at home. See how Carbon dioxide is created by using vinegar and baking soda. Send me an email (kizyb@dearbornschools.org) explaining how the experiment went. Follow the directions on this link and have a grown-up help you. https://onelittleproject.com/baking-soda-and-vinegar-balloons/

*What is YOUR favorite thing about May? Write me a letter, in LETTER FORMAT, explaining why you love the month of May. Either send me an email(kizyb@dearbornschools.org) or ‘Share’ through Google Docs. Attach a picture for bonus bonus points.

*It’s SPRING: What sign of spring have you noticed near your house? Describe what you saw and it’s properties with a picture, if you can. Email (kizyb@dearbornschools.org) it to me or ‘Share’ through Google Docs. I went to school to help Mr. Martin Monday morning and noticed some great signs of spring right outside our school. *Dear MOM….: Mother’s Day is this Sunday, May 10th. Moms LOVE home-made cards, trust me.
