Hello Families, Happy Snow Day, what a great way to bring in the Spring Season. This month we have been busy celebrating National Reading month. Recently we went to Barnes and Noble to search for various books that we can enjoy as adults. Our class looked for magazines. cookbooks. comics and travel books. Mr. Ball, the interpreter in our classroom read a story to us at Barnes and Noble, where he used words and signs. This week we headed to Howe, where Mrs. Lica read a story to us and we had time to browse the library for books that interested us.
In class we learn about Nutrition Facts. Last month we learned about proteins, where we learned about cooking eggs. I highly encourage families to allow students to continue cooking scrambled eggs at home with guidance. This month we started working on carbohydrates. We are cooking cheese quesadillas and pizza.
As the spring weather is drawing near we will begin to learn how to navigate in the community. We will work on how to walk to places us near us. We will learn about major streets in this area and how they connect to areas around our homes. Our class uses google maps, if students have access to the internet please allow them the opportunity to practice using google maps at home.
Last week I sent information about Amelia’s prom through text message. Today I will send the form home. Tickets can be bought online through the link I sent in the text message. https://events.blackbirdrsvp.com/amelia-s-prom-2024
Finally, I hope you all have a wonderful spring break. Whether you are traveling or staying home in Michigan, enjoy, relax and rejuvenate.
