Don’t forget! This wednesday 5th grade will be heading to Orchestra hall in Detroit to see the Detroit symphony orchestra celebrate Beethoven’s birthday!
Q: What should I wear to the DSO?
A: It is still winter, so dress warm, but wear something nice- There was a time that people dressed very fancy to come to a concert, but things are much more relaxed today. Just wear something clean, with no holes, that you feel comfy taking a picture in and you can’t go wrong- no tuxedos or ball gowns needed!
Q: When do I clap?
A: Wait until the conductor put down his baton, then clap away! If the music stops, but he is still holding the baton, it may just be a pause or a rest in the music, so make sure he has set the baton down on his stand or is holding the baton pointed down towards the floor before you clap.
Q: Do I need to pack a lunch?
A: If you are usually a packer, yes, bring your lunch as usual. If you are not a packer, no, you do not need to bring a lunch. Your lunch time will begin when you return to the school after the concert.
