Parents,
We recognize that cell/smart phones are a regular part of yours and your children’s lives. In order to maintain the security of our testing sessions, as well as to reduce distractions for others, we are asking you to discourage your child from bringing their phones with them to school during our final exams this Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Should your student absolutely need to bring their phone, please encourage them to have it turned off and stored in their lockers. If their phone comes into the classroom, students will be directed to turn them off and turn them in to their teacher during the testing session; at the end of the testing session, they will receive them back.
Any student who has a phone out during an active testing session may receive disciplinary action in accordance with our student code of conduct, possibly resulting in an out of school suspension, as well as possible invalidation of that exam.
We recognize this may be an inconvenience, but feel confident that this will better support a more secure and focused testing atmosphere. As a reminder, Dearborn High School is NOT responsible for lost or stolen cell phones or electronic devices.
