This Week

Thank you to everyone who chaperoned the field trip yesterday! I think it is safe to say that even though the kids got messy, they had a blast!

spelling words: her, just, how, his, him, did, fin, pick, hike, fine.

I have had parents ask about a harder spelling list for kids who have gotten 100% on their tests so far. The whole second grade team and I have decided to wait until after report card 1 is finished, so November 4th will be the first day of 2 lists. We will give a harder word list to students who have gotten a 1 in spelling on the report card. We will revisit the list of kids after each marking period! Thanks for being flexible!

Part of Daily 5 these past few weeks has been visualizing. The students have been reading poems and drawing a picture to show what the poem described. This is huge as we move to books with less, or no, pictures.

Module 3 has been moving along. We are taking a topic quiz today. This is a longer module with essential standards in it, which is why we’re taking it slow.
