Today I will not be scheduling a video call for the whole class.. it was too crazy. Please let me know when your child is available to chat with just me and I will video chat with each of them for 30 minutes one day next week! You can let me know via Dojo or e-mail!
I just wanted to make clear that students do not HAVE to complete any of this work. As your child’s teacher I am required to give enrichment activities. I am including new spelling words and math lessons because parents were asking for more. Please do what is best for YOUR family and situation. Let me know if you need anything else from me at this time.
Spelling Words: You can do whatever you want to practice your spelling words! Think of the activities from the bingo boards from homework.
Regular: apple, baby, back, birthday, boat, cents, cave, city, girl, gym
Hard: Wednesday, it’s, live, know, responsible, cereal, cement, curtain, giraffe, guess.
YouTube: I am linking my YouTube channel here for you all. I will read a book, or part of a book, almost everyday. I will talk about vocabulary words and I will give you ideas of what to write about afterwards.

Social Studies: Review where you live. My city is ________. The county I live in is __________. The state I live in is __________. The country I live in is _____________. The planet I live on is _______________. You may write it or type it.
Scholastic News: How to Rescue Baby Eagles. Please watch the video, and listen to the magazine online. Please look at the vocab words and play the game, too. I believe you have this magazine at home, so please complete the back, too!
Science: Get outside!! Do a nature walk of your yard and write down what you see. What do you see that is spring like? Do you see any budding plants? I found some at my house!
Math: Lesson 18 in your Learn book. It should have an application problem, problem set, and exit ticket. I will include the video we normally watch for the lesson here. You do not have any homework for Module 6 because we already ripped it out and it is at school. Check your sprint journal if there are any sprints for the lesson! Any day there are no sprints for the specific lesson, do a set of sprints from your OLD sprint journal, but DO NOT do module 2, please! Please continue to keep up on Zearn. You should at least be at the lesson we are doing each day.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKB7HcYmN2k
Reading: You should read for AT LEAST 20 minutes with a BOOK. I know you should have books at home.. At least the ones I gave you every month. Some of you are wondering what will happen with the March book.. I have it for you and will get it to you when we go back to school! Yay 2 books in April!
RazKids: I will sometimes assign books or activities where you need to read the book out loud and it will record you so I can hear you. If I do not do that, please read any books you want on there. Today I assigned a running record! It IS telling me how you score on the quizzes… so please do your best.
Writing: Today’s Prompt: “Write out your favorite jokes!” I am also including more writing activities in different subjects. I also want you to write a chapter of a book a day. What does this mean? It means YOU are the author.. Like Mo Willems taught us!
Gym: Get outside!! Stay in your yard, go for a family walk, get some fresh air! If you cannot do these activities because of the rain, try go noogle! GoNoodle: Home
Music: Remember the Fifty Nifty song I sang to you? I am putting it here for you to listen to and practice. First, people will be AMAZED you know all 50 states in alphabetical order. I still use this knowledge to help me all the time, even as an adult. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWGc6AZQlAE
Media: You are already doing it!
Art: Mrs. Thomas has 40 days of art on her blog for you to do. Mo Willems, who we have studied in class, is doing daily activities, as well. Mo Willems
