How do you know that your good-fit book is a nonfiction text? Explain. Give at least 3 examples of its text features/elements.

“Here’s how I know that my good-fit book, Who Were the Mound Builders? is a nonfiction text. First of all, my book has a table of contents at the beginning. Also, the important vocabulary words are written in bold type. Finally, I know this book is a nonfiction text because it contains detailed information about the Mound Builders. That’s how I know that my good-fit book is a nonfiction text.” –Mrs. Coleman

Students will have to rely on their knowledge of the features/elements of nonfiction in order to complete this assignment.
