Birthdays

Our school policy states that birthday treats may not be edible. I have added some ideas below that I will allow in our classroom.
– Party favors (bouncy balls, matchbox cars, erasers, tops, magnifying glasses, notepads, balloons, whistles, bubbles, etc.)
– Come into the classroom and read your child’s favorite book to the class.
– Donate something to the classroom (book or game) in your child’s name.
– Ask the teacher for extra recess in honor of your child’s birthday.
– Bring in something that all the children can sign as a birthday treat for your child (shirt/sweatshirt, tote bag, autograph stuffed animal, pillow case, etc.).
– Recommend a dance song, and have the whole class do the hokey pokey or the chicken dance, whatever is your child’s favorite!
Please notify me in advance if you’d like to use any of these ideas in celebration of your child’s birthday!
