Student Lighthouse Grades 1-5 , (K to join later in the year)
Whitmore-Bolles Student Lighthouse Team members must consistently demonstrate the following leadership characteristics:

Dependability, reliability, and respect

Completes classwork and homework assignments

Strong work ethic

Exemplary conduct and citizenship in and out of school

Excellent attendance (on time with limited absences and early check-outs)

Good judgment and decision making skills

Comfortable with public speaking

Ability to teach and demonstrate the 7 Habits to other students

Be willing to meet before school at 8am one day a week
Project Unify (grades 3-5)
Project Unify is a program funded through Special Olympics Michigan. As a project unify athlete, you will:

Attend practices weekly. These will take place during the school day and last 30 minutes

Act as a positive role model and friend to your teammate and other athletes.

Show respect both during practices and during the school day.

Attend the Whitmore Bolles Special Olympic Events throughout the year
Young Athletes Volunteer (grades 1-5, K to join later in the year)
The young athletes program is also funded through Special Olympics Michigan. As a young athlete volunteer, you will:

Work with Whitmore-Bolles young athletes (children ages 2-7) on building gross motor skills (tossing ball, balance activities, following directions)

Act as a positive role model and friend to the young athletes.

Show respect both during practices and during the school day.

Assist the classroom teacher as needed.

Young athletes meet every Friday, however, by signing up you will not be scheduled to work every Friday.
