Posted by on May 11, 2020

Hi Everyone, I hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day weekend and that you were able to celebrate that Mom in your life that has had a great impact on you in some way! Thanks to all the moms out there that are working so hard during the pandemic to help keep everyone moving forward. Today I want to give a quick rundown of what to expect for the week in History class and just like prior weeks I will share a link to the 8th grade calendar at the end of the rundown.

Weekly Rundown

Monday- Read Chapter 16.3 and answer the questions on the Google Form (Due Tuesday). This will be available later this morning.

Tuesday- Finish 16.3 and Stop by my office hours and say Hi between 11:30 and 12:30!

Wednesday- Read Chapter 16.4 AND 16.5 and answer the questions on the Google Form (Due Friday).

Thursday- Keep working on 16.4 and 16.5. ALSO: Stop by my office hours and say Hi between 11:30 and 12:30!

Friday- For the first time this week I will be posting a video link that summarizes much of what you read about the last 2 weeks. There will also be a Google Form with 5 questions about the video (Due Monday).

Here is the 8th Grade Calendar link as promised: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pBnEicmMOWDvx7ZT_QhHC11aAxb6LV8z/view?usp=sharing

Grade Update and Missing Work

I have gone back through all of the assignments and the gradebook has been updated. Many of you will see a significant change in your grades due to a change I made to make it easier for your parents to get a better picture of how much you are participating in class. Previously during the building shutdown, missing work was simply not calculated into your grade in any way and now I am calculating missing work as a 0. By doing this, it helps both you and your parents have a clearer picture of how well you are really doing.

ALSO, I am no longer looking back at the work from previous weeks UNLESS you email me and ask me to specifically check something you submitted.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know!
