Week of 6/8/2020

Good Morning,

This is the final post of the year for my blog. I hope is that everyone has a great summer and that next year is a little more normal than what we have experienced over the past 3 months! I am going to share the weekly rundown below and a link to the 7th grade calendar. Have a great summer!

Monday- Finish all missing work. I will be grading last week’s assignments and inputting any late work I find in Google Classroom. Outside of late work, the gradebook will be finished.

Tuesday: I will be having one last BBB meeting on iLearn from 12:30 – 1:00 if you would like to stop in to say hello!

Please email me when you submit any missing work with the name of the missing assignment.

REMEMBER THAT ALL WORK IS DUE BY MIDNIGHT TONIGHT! Most of you have done a great job of staying on top of the work, but you need to look at your Student Connect TODAY and complete anything that is missing.

Thursday- I will be posting final grades this day. I will also be making recommendations for summer school programs based on missing work and low scores

Friday- No school! Enjoy your summer!!!

Here is the 7th grade weekly calendar:

Have a great summer and please keep in touch!

Week of 6/1

Good Morning!

Here is a quick rundown of what to expect for each day this week in History class. Also, if you are missing work from any past weeks in April and May you should go back and complete as much of that as possible (as soon as possible). Remember, there are only two weeks left and I would like all missing work to be submitted by this upcoming MONDAY 6/8/20 so that I have time to go back through the work and update the gradebook.

This week we will be studying the 3 major empires in the Western Hemisphere – The Inca, The Maya, and The Aztecs. Since we are short on time, this assignment is an overview of the most significant accomplishments of these empires and barely scratches the surface. It is my hope that this lesson will give you enough background so that when these empires are mentioned in your high school classes, you will have some background information.

ALSO: turn in any missing work

Here is the 7th grade calendar for the week:

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Good Morning!

OFFICE HOURS UPDATE: For the next 2 weeks, office hours will NOT be held using a BBB meeting. Instead, I will be posting a question on Google Classroom about the work we have done in the past month for you to answer. Your response WILL BE GRADED AND ENTERED INTO THE GRADEBOOK!

Week of 5/11/2020

Hi Everyone, I hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day weekend and that you were able to celebrate that Mom in your life that has had a great impact on you in some way! Thanks to all the moms out there that are working so hard during the pandemic to help keep everyone moving forward. Today I want to give a quick rundown of what to expect for the week in History class and I will share a link to the 7th grade calendar at the end of the rundown.

Weekly Rundown

Monday- Friday: Watch the videos, do the reading, and answer the questions on Google Classroom. Everything you need is in the Google Doc that has been posted with the assignment.

Tuesday- Stop by my office hours and say Hi between 11:30 and 12:30!

Wednesday- Keep working on the assignment that was posted on Monday.

Thursday- Stop by my office hours and say Hi between 11:30 and 12:30!

Friday- Make sure that your assignment is finished and that you have turned it in on Google Classroom.

Grade Update and Missing Work

I have gone back through all of the assignments and the gradebook has been updated. Many of you will see a significant change in your grades due to a change I made to make it easier for your parents to get a better picture of how much you are participating in class. Previously during the building shutdown, missing work was simply not calculated into your grade in any way and now I am calculating missing work as a 0. By doing this, it helps both you and your parents have a clearer picture of how well you are really doing.

ALSO, I am no longer looking back at the work from previous weeks UNLESS you email me and ask me to specifically check something you submitted.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know!
