Tomorrow is Operation School Bell where the students get to shop for an outfit of their choice, free of charge.  Please make sure your child is at school and on time so they do not miss out on this great opportunity.

Homework:

1. Spelling activities are due tomorrow.  Make sure your child has 4 activities done and that they bring them to school.  Some students have not been responsible and are leaving them at home.  I cannot check them if they are not here.
2. Tomorrow we are doing our My Learning Plan goals for the year.  Have your child write a personal goal (example: I will listen when the teacher is talking, I will do my homework every day, etc) and a career goal for themselves (I want to go to _____University and study to be a _______, I want to become a chef after I graduate from high school, etc).  The worksheet with this information is coming home with your child.  Each goal should be one sentence long.

2. Writing activity- Your job is to apply for the classroom job that you want to do.  You may apply for TWO jobs- your first choice and your second choice.  I will do my best to accommodate your choice.  You will have chances to apply for different jobs throughout the year.

Happy Friday! Although the weather was rainy we had a great end to the week.  We finished up our math unit in both first and second grade this week, and have started learning about fact families and doubles.  In reading we are wrapping up our unit on literature and are moving into poetry in the next few weeks. First graders are learning about sound and light, as well as rules and fairness.  Second graders are learning about matter and communities.
