Today we had a wonderful time at Henry Ford Museum.

Homework for tonight:

  1. Practice for the science test tomorrow.  The study guide links are on yesterday’s blog post.
  2. Complete the weekly spelling activities.  All 4 spelling activities are due tomorrow!

Reminder that Friday is a half day.  We get out at 11:45

Happy Friday:

Reminder- Monday we have a MANDATORY literacy meeting from 2:50-3:35.  You will get your child’s DRA and NWEA results as well as learn the expectations for this year.  Please mark it on your calendars.  The meeting will take place in our classroom #107.

Thursday 10/26/17

Tomorrow is the final day to turn in field trip permission slips (Henry Ford Museum) and trunk or treat money ($3.00).  Make sure you bring in these items or you will miss out and not be able to participate.

Homework:

Every student has a science and social studies project that is on MYON and is due 10/31/17.  The students have had time to work on them in class, every day, for an entire month.  Some students have finished both of them, some students have barely started.  Please check your child’s progress and have them work on them this weekend if they have not finished.  They will receive a grade for each project on their report card.

Wednesday 10/25/17

Picture Day is tomorrow.  Come to class on time, with your picture day money, and your best smile 🙂

Homework:

  1. Social studies test is tomorrow.  Practice the study guide on Monday’s blog post.
  2. Spelling activities are due tomorrow.  Complete and bring all 4 to school.

Tuesday 10/24/2017

Homework tonight:

  1. Sign permission slip to the Henry Ford Museum.  We need parent volunteers who have an ICHAT form on file and can ride the bus with us.  Please write *Parent volunteer (your name) on the top of your child’s form if you can be a chaperone.  No children outside of our class can attend this field trip.  All permission slip need to be returned by Friday.
  2. Complete a weekly spelling activity
  3. Practice for the social studies test on THURSDAY this week.  See links on Monday’s blog post
  4. Practice the math study guide- it is coming home today.  The test will be either Monday or Tuesday next week- I will make the decision by the end of this week based on the students’ understanding of the concepts
  5. Bring in $3.00 for the trunk-or-treat activities for next Tuesday.  Candy donations are being accepted this week by the PTA- thank you if you can contribute.

*Picture Day is this Thursday.  Please send in your money and envelope tomorrow so I can double check that everything is correctly filled out and the tax is included with your payment.  Thank you

*Reminders

  1. Picture day is this Thursday!  Make sure you include the picture money AND money for the tax.  A $10 picture package costs $10.60 with tax.
  2. The mandatory literacy meeting is next Monday 10/30/17 from 2:50-3:30.  You will receive important information about your child’s school year and you may take your child with you when the meeting is over.
  3. Trunk or Treat is Tuesday 10/31/17- The cost is $3 per child to dress up for the day, get a pumpkin, and go trunk-or-treating 🙂
  4. We have a field trip on Wednesday November 1, 2017.  We are going to the Henry Ford Museum.  The cost is $0.00  A permission slip is coming home tomorrow.  Please return it by Thursday 10/26/17.  If you can be a parent chaperone please let me know- the cost is covered if you ride the bus with us.  Remember no younger children may attend.

One of the arguments for year-round schooling is that children will have better knowledge retention versus having too much of a mental break in the summer.
