Homework for tonight:

1. 1st graders please practice your math study guide for your test this FRIDAY.  2nd graders have no math homework since you took your math test today.
2. Weekly spelling activities are due tomorrow.  Make sure you have all 4 completed to bring to school tomorrow.
3. Read from your reading bags for at least 15 minutes.  All students have new books in their reading bags and I will begin doing DRAs over the next few weeks.  Please make sure you are reading everyday AND thinking concretely about what you have read
4. Walk around your yard and see if you can find any seeds which we can dissect on Friday.  Please bring them in tomorrow (pine cones, acorns, etc.).

Our class and Ms. Earle’s class has an opportunity to go to the Ann Arbor botanical gardens next Wednesday.  In order to go we MUST have a minimum of 2 volunteers in each class.  If you are able to go on the bus (you must have an I-chat form on file in the office) and can chaperone next Wednesday please let me know by this Thursday 4/26/18.  There is currently only one parent volunteer between the two classes. If we do not have enough chaperones we will not be going on the field trip.  Thank you

Homework this weekend:

1. Math
   1. 2nd graders- practice the math study guide.  Your math test is on Wednesday.  Make sure you can measure items to the nearest inch and centimeter, and that you know how many inches are in a foot and a yard.
   2. 1st graders- you will bring home your study guide on Monday because your test is on Friday.  However if you want to start studying I have posted a copy of my study guide on the bottom of the post.  Your homework this weekend is to complete the mobymax assignments over fraction (halves and fourths) and comparing numbers.  I will be checking them on Monday.
2. Complete a weekly spelling activity
3. Read

Below are the study guide math sheets for 1st graders.  2nd graders have their study guides in their backpacks.  1st graders will bring home their paper version of the study guide on Monday.

Homework for tonight:

I just realized that although the students wrote their spelling words in their planner last Friday I never posted them on the blog.  My apologies.  Here are the words for the spelling test tomorrow.  The students also have them written in their planner on page 85.

Today we had a wonderful trip to Greenfield Village! The children were able to see a working farm and explore what towns looked like 150 years ago 😀

Homework:

2. Read from book bags for 20 minutes

3. Practice math flash cards

Spring picture day is tomorrow! If you want to purchase pictures you must bring in money and the picture order form

 

 

Tomorrow is our field trip to Greenfield Village.  We will be outside for a portion of the day so please wear your winter coat, hat, gloves, scarves, and warm shoes.  You also will want to bring a packed lunch.  Make sure you have healthy foods and a drink.
