Last day of school

Today is the last day of the school year.  It has been my privilege to be your child’s teacher this year.  Thank you for such a wonderful and memorable school year.

Reminder that today is a half day of school and we get out at 11:45.  Have a wonderful and safe summer and I will see you all in the fall.

Celebration assembly

The final celebration assembly of the year will be tomorrow at 1:30.  K-2 will be from 1:30 to approximately 2:15.

The students were told today if they would be receiving a certificate or not so please ask your child.  I hope to see you there.

Friday 6-8-18

Happy Friday:

Today was the last Friday of the 2017/2018 school year 🙂  The students took their final math quiz and spelling test of the year and are bringing those home in their back packs.  I have also included a printout of your child’s beginning and ending NWEA scores.

Please continue to send your child to school with their back pack next week because we will begin bringing home the items in their desks.

The fourth quarter celebration assembly is scheduled for Tuesday 6/12/18.  I will post the time as soon as it is finalized.

Homework this weekend:

  1. Read on Myon or a book from home for 20 minutes
  2. Have a great weekend 🙂

Wednesday 6-6-18

Homework:

  1. Practice your math study guide for the quiz on FRIDAY.  This is your final math grade so make sure you practice.
  2. Spelling activities due tomorrow.
  3. Read for 15 minutes

Science tests are coming home today.  The students did a wonderful job 🙂

Tuesday 6/5/18

Happy Tuesday:

Tomorrow is the day that we will be planting our vegetables in the front of the school in our school garden.  If you are free tomorrow and you want to come by and help us we would love to see you.  We will be planting from around 9:30-11:00.  We hope to see you there 🙂

Homework tonight:

  1. Complete a weekly spelling activity
  2. Study for your science test tomorrow.  2nd graders need to name and label the plant parts on a drawing and answer questions regarding the functions of the plant parts.  First graders need to name and label the plant parts on a drawing , label the body parts of a bird, and match baby animals with their parent animal.
  3. Practice for math-a-thon

Social Studies Study Guides

Here are the study guides for the Social Studies Tests this week.  I apologize for not being able to post them yesterday.  Remember you may practice the study guide as many times as you like.  Happy Practicing 🙂

*If you know that your child will not be in school because you are traveling PLEASE let me know ahead of time so that I can give them their final unit tests before they leave.  It is a large portion of their grade.

Homework over the weekend:

This is our last full week of school.  We are finishing up our units in social studies and science.  A social studies study guide will be posted on the blog tomorrow June 2, 2018.  Our social studies test will be on Tuesday for both 1st and 2nd grade.

Our science test will be on Wednesday.  You will get a review sent home on Monday.

We will do a small math quiz on Friday to review concepts we have covered since our last math test.

Homework:

  1. Practice social studies study guide.  Test on Tuesday.
  2. Practice math skills on moby max for the quiz next Friday.
  3. Complete 1st weekly spelling activity.
