  3. Read for 20 minutes
  4. Bring in the field trip form and the money if you have not already- all forms and money are due by Friday.

We will begin taking our NWEA test next week.  Our first test (Math) will begin on Tuesday.  I have a special page at the top of my blog that has websites that your child can go to in order to practice math skills.  Moby Max is an excellent recess that students should be utilizing every day.  We have learned to add up to 999 in second grade and are working on two-digit numbers in first grade.  We are also working on subtraction with borrowing in both grades.  Measurement, geometry, problem solving, and reading/interpreting graphs are other concepts students should be practicing.

Monday 1/8/18

Happy Sunday:

I am very excited to see everyone tomorrow after 2 weeks away from school.  I hope everyone had a fun and restful break and are ready to learn in the year 2018 🙂

Some reminders for tomorrow:

  1. Reading calendars for the month of December are due tomorrow.  I will be adding all of the minutes you read that are written on your calendar to the minutes you acquired on Myon.  Remember parents have to intial or sign each entry- I will not accept minutes that parents have not signed off on.  I will be collecting the calendars tomorrow but the top winners will not be announced until later in the week.  It takes me a while to add all of the minutes up 🙂
  2. Break packets are due tomorrow.  It was an optional assignment for students to practice over break.  Students who bring in the packet tomorrow will receive a ticket for each COMPLETED page they bring back.
    1. I will not accept packets after tomorrow because we are working on being responsible.  Put your packet in your backpack today so you won’t accidentally forget it.
  3. Dress for the weather.  Even though we line up inside it is incredibly cold and we want all students to be dressed appropriately.  Please make sure your child has a warm coat, hat, and gloves to wear to school.

Friday 12/22/17

Have a wonderful and safe winter break 🙂  I will see everyone back to school on 1/8/18!

Homework over the break:

  1. Complete the winter break packet.  You get 1 ticket for every page you complete and bring back.  They are due back on Monday when we return.
  2. Read every day.  Your December/beginning of January reading logs are due on 1/8/18.
