Happy Friday:

This weekend all of the students are bringing home their science study guide. 2nd graders have a 2 sided study guide, 1st graders have a science packet we have been working on in class as their study guide.  Everyone has a science test on Tuesday. Please make sure that your child practices every day.  They also have science flashcards in their reading bags: 1st graders have moon phase cards, 2nd graders have land forms cards.  These are essential concepts that will definitely be on their test Tuesday.

Students are also bringing home their math test study guide.  Their math test will be on Thursday.

Homework:

1. Complete weekly spelling activity
2. Read for 20 minutes
3. Practice science study guide

Homework tonight:

1. Practice for the spelling test tomorrow
2. Read for 20 minutes
3. Practice your math facts

Homework tonight:

1. Practice your math flash cards- we have a mad minute on Friday
2. Complete a weekly spelling activity.  All 4 are due tomorrow.
3. Read for 20 minutes

Tomorrow is math problem in your pocket day for March is reading month.  Write a math problem on a piece of paper and stick it in your pocket.  A teacher may ask you if you have one- if you do, you get a prize 🙂

Today we had a great day in school.  We have library tomorrow so don’t forget to bring your library book.

Today we had a great day.  We did ELA, writing, and math in the morning and had our Jump Rope for Heart assembly in the afternoon.  Our students did a wonderful job jump roping and one lucky student even got to silly string his teacher 🙂

Welcome to March is Reading Month! Each child has a weekly reading log that needs to be filled out.  They will receive 4 weekly reading logs rather than a monthly log to go along with the Minion theme Oakman is doing.  A reading calendar is posted as a new page at the top of the blog.  Check it out to see what events we are doing each day for school 🙂

2. Practice addition math facts
3. Read for 20 minutes.  Write the title of the book I read and the number of minutes I read on my reading calendar.

1. Do weekly spelling activities over the break.
2. Practice your SCIENCE lessons I sent you on moby max and math on moby max.  We are starting new units in math after break over the following concepts:
   1. 1st graders are learning about breaking apart numbers (for example 7 breaks up into 3 and 4), finding the missing addend (3 + ____ = 11), and story problems.
   2. 2nd graders are learning about adding four numbers (addends) at a time, reading graphs, arrays (rows and columns), and story problems.
