I have created a new page at the top of the blog titled “class pictures”.  I have uploaded the pictures from Trunk-or-treat today.  I will begin uploading pictures from our zoo field trip to the page tomorrow.

For homework tonight students are to:

1. Complete remaining spelling activities- remember 4 are due tomorrow
2. Read for 15 minutes

Spirit Day tomorrow is Pajama Day.

Happy Monday:

This week is spirit week.  We had awesome participation today and I saw lots of mixed up outfits and crazy hair.  Thanks to those who participated.  Tomorrow is Pink day to bring awareness to cancer research.  Please wear pink and if possible make a $1 donation to help fight cancer and fund cancer research.

Homework for tonight:

1. Complete the math worksheet about 2 dimensional shapes.
2. Read for 15 minutes
3. Complete a spelling activity

Reminder that Wednesday is the science test- the study guide came home on Friday.  It is over properties of matter.  We have covered this extensively in class and science enrichment but it’s always great to review at home too.

Reminder: Today we have our parent math meeting at 2:45 in our classroom- room 107.  I look forward to seeing you all there.

Homework:

1. Our social studies test is next Monday.  Your child is bringing home a paper to study that covers the short answer portion of the test.  I have posted my copy of the information at the bottom of this blog post in case they forgot their notebook at school.  There is also an online study guide.  Complete the study guide by clicking on this link-  https://testmoz.com/905303 
2. Practice your science study guide that came home today.  Your science test over properties of matter is on Wednesday.

We have a spelling test tomorrow, our social studies test is on Monday, and our science test is Wednesday morning (students will bring home their study guide tomorrow).  Please make sure you are studying and practicing the study guides so you are successful.

A big thank you to all the parent chaperones who went on the zoo field trip today.  We had a wonderful time and it would not have been possible without you 🙂  If you took any pictures on the field trip today please email them to me at patterj@dearbornschools.org and I will add them to the blog.

We have some important dates coming up:

1. Tomorrow is picture day.  We are taking pictures first thing tomorrow morning so make sure you are on time.  Please send in the order form and money if you have not done so already.
2. Monday 10/29 is our Parent Math Meeting.  It is at 2:45 in our classroom Room 107.  Please make sure to attend.  We will be going over the new math curriculum the district is using and I will be sharing math games you can play at home.  I will also be showing you how to access Zearn and Edulastic on the computer so your child can practice at home.
3. Next Wednesday 10/31 is Trunk-or-Treat at Oakman.  It costs $3.00 to participate.  This allows your child to wear their costume to school, they get a pumpkin from our school pumpkin patch, and can collect candy at Trunk-or-Treat 🙂
4. The PTA is collecting candy donations.  If you would like to donate a bag of candy for trunk-or-treat please drop it off in the office

Tomorrow is our field trip to the zoo.  Students must have the following:

1. A packed lunch- I recommend you put it in a plastic bag the students can throw away when they are done.  Please make sure your child has a healthy lunch and water or juice.  We walk a lot at the zoo so the students will get thirsty.
2. A warm winter coat, hat, and gloves.  We will be outside the whole time.
3. Good walking shoes.

Reminder: Thursday is school picture day.  Please fill out the order form if you would like to purchase pictures (it came home last week, if lost you can get a new one in the office).  Make sure to include the purchase price and tax.  Tax is 6% so if the pictures cost $20 tax would be $1.20, making the total $21.20
