Happy Monday:
What we are learning this week:
- In reading we are working on determining the meanings of unknown words based on the context of the story and answering questions regarding non-fiction texts.
- Moby max non-fiction reading and moby max vocabulary are great tools for practicing this skill at home.
- In math we are working on determining 10 more, 10 less, 100 more, and 100 less in math, as well representing numbers in base ten blocks.
- In social studies we are learning about the past, the present, and timelines.
- In science we are learning about animal and plant characteristics.
- In writing we are working on our “Best Pet” opinion papers.
I am currently conducting end of the year DRA’s. I will be doing this for the next two weeks. Make sure your child is reading every day.
Homework:
- Read for 15 minutes
- Complete a weekly spelling activity
- Start your timeline project. The directions and template came home today- it is due by Monday May 7, 2018.
- Myon Science projects are due tomorrow- students have had a month to complete them. I will be grading them tomorrow so make sure all of the questions have been answered and submitted. I will not give any extensions on this activity.
