4. Social studies bedroom projects are due by Friday- 4 students have not turned them in yet.  They are worth 20 points.  I told the students that if they are not turned in tomorrow we are calling home to let you know that they have 1 day left to turn in their project.

The Celebration Assembly is tomorrow at 1:05 in the gymnasium.  The students have been told if they are receiving a certificate for either honor roll, most improved, bucket filler, or math master.  We hope you can make it.

2. Read for 15 minutes from reading bag.
3. Complete your weekly spelling activity- if you haven’t finished them all yet

Reminder- your social studies map project is due by Friday.  Half of the students have turned theirs in already.  Make sure you have all of the elements necessary- the list is on the directions that went home before Thanksgiving break.  This is worth 20 points so make sure you turn it in on time 🙂

Homework for tonight:

1. Practice for the math-a-thon tomorrow.
   1. Students may access the online math-a-thon practice by going to https://dearbornschools.org/resources/students
      1. Click on I-Learn
      2. type in your 200 number and your password to sign in.  Go to Oakman Math-a-thon
      3. Click on 2nd grade practice- it should be written in green writing
2. Read from your reading bag for 15 minutes
3. Complete a weekly spelling activity if you have not already finished 4.
4. Complete your bedroom map if you did not already turn this in.  Many students turned it in today.  Remember this is due on Friday and is worth 20 points.  It was given out last Tuesday before the break.

I hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving break.  The children are bringing home their Thanksgiving papers of what they are thankful for- perhaps you can hang it up as a Thanksgiving decoration 🙂

Homework over the break:

1. Read for 15 minutes every day
2. Complete the math worksheet
3. The students are bringing home their social studies map project.  They are to make a map of their bedroom complete with a map key and a compass rose.  Directions and an example of what to do are coming home.  These projects are due on Friday 11/30/18.  I am giving lots of time in case your family is traveling over Thanksgiving.

Tonight is the Oakman School fundraiser at Zap Zone from 5:00-8:00.  More information is in the picture below.

Today students are bringing home a copy of their math test- I am keeping the original in their files.  The marks I made on their paper showed up black rather than pink- I either circled or wrote over the marks so you can see what changes I made based on your child’s answers.  The average grade was a 2! Great job second graders 🙂

      1. Click on the math study guide link given
      2. Click sign in with google
      3. Type in the 200 number I wrote in blue ink in the front of your child’s planner.  This is not the ZEARN password- this is a completely different website.  At the end of the number you need to add @dearbornschools.org
         1. For example, if my number is 20108900 then I need to type in 20108900@dearbornschools.org into the username.
2. Practice your spelling words for the spelling test tomorrow
3. Read for 15 minutes

I received some messages from parents saying they were having trouble signing into the math study guide.  I have reposted the instructions below.  Each study guide is was only available to take once.  I assigned three different ones this time so students would see different numbers in the problems and would not be able to memorize the answers.  I will reopen each study guide again at the end of the school day so that students can take it again tonight.
