Here is a resource that explains our first math unit.  It has key concepts, models, and key vocabulary.  This is for you to read so that you are familiar with the work that your child is doing in class.  The students will have math homework tonight so if your child is struggling this is a great resource to help them.  parent-tips_g2m1tb

1. Complete your first spelling activity for next week.  I recommend students complete more than one spelling activity over the weekend if they know they have a busy week coming up.  4 spelling activities from the spelling bingo sheet are due on Thursday.  If you have misplaced your BINGO sheet there is a link to the sheet at the top of the Blog.
2. Have fun with your family 🙂

Today for homework:

1. Please complete the math homework that goes with lesson 3 (there is a parent explanation sheet to go along with it).  Students are expected to do 1a, 1b, 2a, 2b, 2c, and 2d.  They are not required to do the rest but they may if they choose.
2. Spelling Test tomorrow.  Please review the spelling words for this week.  They can be found on Friday’s Blog Post.

Happy Monday:

Today the students took the Math NWEA test.  They did a wonderful job following directions and doing their best.  Tomorrow we will take the NWEA Reading test.  Please make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and eats breakfast tomorrow.

It is going to be very hot tomorrow.  I suggest every child brings a water bottle to school so they can stay hydrated.

We have library check out tomorrow- bring back your library book.
