On June 21 or 22 the sun shines on the Tropic of Cancer it is summer in the Northern hemisphere(tilted toward sun) and winter in the Southern hemisphere
The opposite is true on December 22 or 23. The sun shines on Tropic of Capricorn. Southern hemisphere tilted toward sun and it’s summer. Northern hemisphere tilted away and its winter there.
Contiguous means sharing a border or touching. Remember contiguous U.S.
