Read By Third Grade

Posted on
Based on Public Law 306 (October 2016), third grade students who are more than a year below grade level on the state ELA assessment are under consideration for retention in third grade.  Dearborn Public Schools staff in elementary schools have been systematically planning to ensure that teachers have the training to teach reading effectively and that students receive small group instruction based on their needs.  The current year second graders are the first group to potentially be impacted by the legislation.
You are invited to join the district task force to strengthen the planning process and to ensure that the community is informed and engaged in the success of every student.
If you would like to participate, please complete the survey.

I-Ready Reading Website

Posted on

Some students have complained that they cannot access the I-Ready program from their home computer.  Please follow the steps below and you should be able to get in using Clever.  I-Ready is an online reading component that students are required to be on everyday.  They do have opportunities to use it at school, but they should also be using it daily at home.

Students will need to go to gmail.com, the student must log in with their @dearbornschools.org account, if someone else is logged in the Clever link will NOT work. Once the student has logged in with their @dearbornschools.org account, they can go to the Clever link and they will be able to access their I-Ready accounts.

I hope this helps.  Please let me know if you have any further questions regarding I-Ready.

Great Math Website

Students have been introduced to zearn.org.  This is a math website that goes along with Eureka Math.  It is very fun and the kids have enjoyed playing with it.  It is highly encouraged that students play at home.  It is very educational and will help develop the concepts learned in class.  There is a link to the website in the class links section.  You can also search zearn.org.  Our class code is DZ7Z9A.  Students use their student ID number as their username and birthday as their password.  I hope you find this useful as an additional resource to help with math.
