Friends of the Rouge, Rouge Rescue Earth Day Challenge! Due Sunday May 3rd

Due to Covid-19, many non profits are finding new ways to have people volunteer and help out remotely. Friends of the Rouge created an earth day challenge in lieu of their annual clean up.

The challenge is a series of activities that you can complete from home to earn points.

Earn 200 points and submit a screen shot or picture of your point total to earn credit for this weeks assignment!

FHS Learning Plan (MUST READ)

All assignments are located in iLearn under “Remote learning week 5: week of 4/20.” Complete each assignment in order. The assignments are numbered in the order they should be completed.

If you are able, begin the assignments right away so that you can ask questions during your classes designated google hangout time.

Assignments are due Sunday, but DO NOT wait until the last minute as I will not answer last minute questions. All questions should be emailed to me by Friday.

Online learning plan from now until the end of the year.

Hi Students,

So we now have the school wide learning plan. I will be submitting grades in miStar this week .You will receive a grade for doing the work and a grade for attending the mandatory google hangout meeting once a week. If you have been one of the students doing work for the last month, this WILL be taken into account when making final grades.

Every Monday I will post a block of assignments on my blog. All work can be found in iLearn and will be numbered in the order you should complete.

You must view all videos and assignment and complete all activities and questions. If your answers or work is incomplete and not meaningful you will not receive credit.

“Problems with Recycling” Due Tuesday 4/14 at 4:00 PM Plus Daily Video chats!

This week you will be working in iLearn under the tab “Remote learning week 4”

  1. Complete the survey titled “Do you recycle at home?”
  2. Read the articles titled ” Problems with recycling article #1 ,#2 and #3″
  3. Create a discussion in the forum titled “Problems with Recycling Discussion Board” by describing three problems with recycling in America.

If you are in my Hour 3 class. Please check your school email and respond to the internet survey.

Closing the loop: Recycling and Reusing Due Friday at 5:00 PM

  1. Annotate the article titled, “Recycling process”
  2. Complete the lesson titled “ Recycling in Dearborn”
  3. Annotate Close the loop diagram with discussion
    • Create 3 Annotations (or replies) on the “Close the Loop” diagram
    • Answer the following question in the “Close the loop discussion board”
      1. What does it mean to “Close the loop” and why do many people believe we need to close the loop?
      2. What three things can you do help to close the loop?
  4. EXTRA CREDIT
    • Take a picture of you recycling, reusing or using recycled products. Attach it to the “Close the Loop Discussion board”
