HR May updates

Here are a few updates.

1. We recently sent out a PD survey to all secretaries in the district. This survey will assist us to design and develop professional development opportunities for clerical faculty.

2.  The district teacher evaluation committee will be meeting for the last time during the current school year on May 30th, 2012. Here is the agenda for the meeting. 1.  Michigan Educator Effectiveness Council Report  2.  timelines 3. mid year report.  4.  Professional Development for Teachers and Administrators 5. Stages update.  6. Other.

3. Chris Sipperley, Glenn Maleyko, Rob Seeterlin, and Joanne Oliver continue to work on staffing issues, we have spent many days an hours analyzing the district staffing needs.  We hope to have the surplus meeting in early June.  The principals have also been supporting the process by providing staffing sheets and information. This is a very intense and rigorous process so we appreciate the support and patience that everyone has provided to us.

4.  We are hoping to retain more teachers in the high school ASAP program, and thus we have recently sent out a survey.

5.  We continue to pursue technology upgrades in HR that will create additional efficiencies and monetary savings. This includes on-line hiring software, electronic filing systems, electronic evaluation systems, and additional enhancements to our website.
